WALLACE, Diane Paulette – 64, of Valley, Colchester County, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 26, 2011, at home. Born on March 4, 1947 in Bridgewater, Queens County, she was a daughter of the late Robert Lemuel and Laverna Zelma (Spidell) Smith. Diane worked for a short period as a home care worker, but perhaps she was most well known in the community for looking after her children, as well as the neighbourhood children. She enjoyed cooking for every person that entered her house and she could always make something out of nothing. Her cooking and kindness will be truly missed by everyone. If you were a person in need, she was there for you. Diane is survived by her daughters, Tina Swan; Darlene (Tony) Skinner; grandchildren, Ashley and Kristan Swan, Paige and Tyler Skinner; great-grandchildren, Dakota, Desiree and Chelsea; brothers, Carol (Jean) Smith, David Smith (Diane’s twin), and Leon Smith all of Bridgewater. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Ronald Richard Wallace (June 18, 2011). Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to Lohnes-DeMont Funeral and Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., PO Box 981, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0 (902-798-8317). A gathering to celebrate Diane’s life will be held at her home, 12 Kay Court, Valley, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 29, all are invited to attend.
