Annie Mae MacNeil, 88, Iona, N.S., died peacefully Oct. 26, 2011, at Victoria County Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Annie Mae was a hard worker and spent many years on the family farm. She had a great love for animals especially her dog Maggie. She was a dedicated member of St. Columba parish, Iona.
She was the eldest child of the late John H. and Catherine MacNeil.
She is survived by four sisters and one brother, Betty (Ham) Noonan, Josie (Michael) Small, Catherine Ann (Archie) MacKenzie, Minie (Duncan) MacNeil; and Mickey (Hughena) MacNeil.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Michael R. MacNeil, two siblings in infancy.
Visitation will take place from 2-9 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30 at St. Columba Parish Centre, Iona. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Columba Church, Rev. Paul Abbass officiating. Interment will follow in St. Columba Parish Cemetery.
The family would like to extend sincere thanks to all those who cared and watched over Annie Mae.
