The death occurred at his home in St. Timothy on Monday Oct. 26, 2009, of Eldon J.P. Gallant at the age of 59 years, dear husband of Eleanor (nee Bursey). Gallant. He is the son of Rita Gallant of Le Chez Nous and the late Edmond Gallant. Besides his wife, Eleanor, he is also survived by son, Pete (Paula Donovan), and grandchildren, Lateisha and Tasen, and mother, Rita Gallant, brothers and sisters, Ronnie, Mont Carmel, Vincent (Jeanette) of Egmont Bay, Bertha Ellis (Billy Matthews) of Summerside, Sylvia Noye of Summerside, Yvette (Blair) Collicutt of St. Raphael, Anne Arsenault of Cape Egmont, Marie (Peter) Arsenault of Mont Carmel and Louis (Julie Barriault) of Cape Egmont, and also brothers- and sisters-in-law, Valerie Bobbitt of Toronto, Lulubell (Chester Jones) of Toronto, Hampton (Junior Rogers) of Quebec, Ruby Jenniss of Quebec, John and Mary Bursey of Quebec, Marion (Felix McKinnon) of B.C., Larry and Carolann Bursey of N.B., Rene and Debbie Bursey of Ontario, Murie (Willie Driscoll) of Ontario, Corinne and Mike Schutte of Ontario. Besides his father, Edmond, he was predeceased by his stepfather, Alphonse, brothers, Paul and Eric, and a sister, Edna in infancy, father- and mother-in-law, Jack and Julie Bursey, brothers- and sisters-in-law, Allan Bursey, Ashley Bursey, Janet Bursey, Grenvell Bobbit and Henry Jenniss. Resting at the Evangeline Funeral Home until Thursday, then to Notre Dame du Mont Carmel Church in Mont Carmel for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Visitation shall be received on Wednesday, 6 to 9 p.m only. He was a member of AA Group. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the grandchildren educational fund or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
