GOODWIN, Robert William - age 73, passed away October 15, 2011 in the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Bob was the youngest son of Tracy and Flora (Knowles) Goodwin. Bob’s working life was in the trucking business with his father; brother Carl and step mother Myra; and when their business operation closed in 1997 they were involved in the distribution of Coca-Cola products in South-western Nova Scotia. For pleasure Bob and wife Shirley had many good trips RV’ing and motor biking; he always enjoyed going in parades with his bike and Mickey Mouse on the back and to see the joy of the kids reactions. He was recently presented with a certificate of appreciation as a founding and honorary member of the Sou’ West Nova Bikers Association. Bob is survived by his wife Shirley (Mailman) and Brother Carl (Noreen) and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and step-mother, brothers Havelock, Charles, Russell and sister Norma. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium. A memorial service was held Tuesday October, 18 at 2 p.m at Temple Baptist Church, 5 Bond Street, Yarmouth, Rev. Robert MacCormack officiated. Private interment will take place in Yarmouth Mountain Cemetery.
