Joanne Coulombe

COULOMBE, JOANNE - It is with broken hearts that we announce the death of Joanne Louise (Babineau) Coulombe on Friday, October 28th, 2011 after a long and brave battle against cancer. Joanne is survived by her husband, Jocelyn, the love of her life and soul mate, and her 2 children, Jonathan Bois and Kristen Bois, both at home, whom she was always so proud of.
She is survived by her mother Helen Babineau of New Zion and her 3 siblings Michael (Maggie) of Wuhr's Beach, Jimmy (Jane) of Lincoln, and Barby (Brett) Barton of Newcastle Centre, and her 3 step-children; Cindy Coulombe of Fredericton, Dave Coulombe and Anick Coulombe, both of Quebec City and a step-granddaughter, Amelie, several aunt and uncles and many cousins. As well, she leaves her beloved pets; her little pug Olive, her cat Charlotte, and Murphy the parrot. She was predeceased by her father James Babineau in 1986 who also died of cancer. Joanne was born in Minto in 1959 and graduated from Minto Memorial High School in 1977. Soon after, she moved to Campbellton NB, where she pursued a career in the customer service and food service industry. With her hard work and dedication she soon became well respected in her field. She lived and worked in Campbellton for nearly 30 years before she decided to move closer to home to be near her family. Joanne was happiest when she was taking care of her family and she loved to cook for them. There were always big meals, the family all around the table, and new recipes to sample. She always saw the beauty in simple things and loved being close to nature. She loved to tend the flowers in her garden and she fed and cared for all the little birds and squirrels that would come to her many feeders. She fought this terrible disease with everything she had and her strength and positive attitude made her an inspiration to all who knew her. Her faith never waivered and she always maintained the hope that she would beat cancer. It is only our belief in the promise of eternal life that gives us the strength to go on. Joanne is now in the arms of the angels...free from pain, and she will be there to greet us when our time has come.
At Joanne's request there will be no public visitation. A service in celebration of her life and our love for her will be held at the Minto Community Chapel from Hogg Funeral Services (10 King Street, Minto, NB) on Tuesday, November 1st, 2011 at 10:30am. For those who wish, donations made to an education fund for Joanne’s daughter, Kristen Bois, would be appreciated by the family. www.hoggfunerals.ca
