Pauline Loretta Young, 93, of Riverton, passed away peacefully October 26, 2011 in the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Shinimicas, Cumberland County, she was a daughter of the late Aubrey and Dorothy Smith of Scotsburn.
She is survived by son, Cecil (Connie), Kitchener, Ontario; six grandchildren: Bethaire Peckham, Jeanette (Leo) Perkins, Theresa Peckham, John Young, Heather (Barry) Bitchey, Chester (Leah) Young; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters: Jean Cotter, Thelma (Camille) Casey and Dorothy Ferguson.
She was predeceased by her husband, Irving; daughter, Muriel (Eric) Peckham; brothers: Elmer, Bertrum, Waldo, Jerald, Francis, Ralph, Ross, and Chesley; sisters, Irene MacDonald and Mabel Rhyno.
Thanks are extended to Dr. Farrell, Debbie Williams, Rhonda Langille, the caring staff of the Palliative Care Unit at the Aberdeen Hospital and the V.O.N.
Arrangements are under the direction of McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou.
Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held at a later date.
