Trefry, Vernon Clifford, 84 of Cameron Avenue, New Glasgow passed away October 29, 2011 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Stellarton he was a son of the late Ernest Albert and Gertrude May(Coffill)Trefry.
Vernon retired from the former Trenton Works after 38 years service. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, New Glasgow, the IOOF Lodge, The Knights of Pythias and a long time member of the Stellarton Male Chorus.
He is survived by brothers, Owen”Bud”, Stellarton; Royce, Anderson’s Mountain; Kenneth(Lillian), Smithfield; a sister Claire(Ralph)Foote, Plymouth; numerous nieces and nephews, step-sons, Gerald Patterson, New Glasgow; David Patterson, Westville; a step-daughter Doris, Ontario;
He was predeceased by brothers, Whitman, Francis and Harold, a sister Mildred Dean, brother-in law Burton Dean, a brother and sister in infancy, his first wife, Mary Eastwood, second wife Helena Patterson and a step-son Robert Patterson.
His remains will rest in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow for visiting from 2-4 and 7-9pm Monday.
Funeral services will be held 2pm Tuesday from the First Presbyterian Church, New Glasgow with Rev.Dr.Glenn Matheson presiding.
Reception to follow in the church hall.
Burial to take place in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens.
