The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Saturday, October 29, 2011 of Bert Pluigers, beloved husband of Davida (Frances) (nee Hovestad) of St. Patrick’s and formerly of The Netherlands, age 83.
Bert was the loving father of Gerry Jansen (Jaap), Jan Pluigers (Josephine), Lambertus (Bert) Pluigers (Pauline), Jeanette Plomp (John), Sharon Pluigers-Eagles and Randy Pluigers; and devoted grandfather and great-grandfather of many. He is also survived by his sister, Gerritje de Roos; brother, Jan (Hermana); and sisters-in-law, Geertruida Zwanepol and Roelffina de Jong. Bert was predeceased by his sisters, Elizabeth van de Sluis (Dirk), Johanna Viviá (Arie) and Geertje Geefzhuizen (Leo); and sister and brothers-in-law, Wim de Roos, Herman Zwanepol, Gilbert de Jong and Jacoba MacLean (Gordon).
Resting at the Christian Reformed Church, 153 Mt. Edward Road, Charlottetown, for visitation on Tuesday, November 1, 2011, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Funeral will be held at the Christian Reformed Church on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at 2 p.m. Interment in Marshfield Cemetery.
