It is with deep sorrow that we, the family, announce the sudden passing of Francis Joseph Dunn, 50, on October 26, 2009 at his home in New Waterford.
Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of Donald and the late Annie (Burns) Dunn. Francis was a familiar face at the local Sobeys store where he worked the last three years, since his return back from Ontario where he was for several years. Francis was a quiet man who enjoyed watching hockey, playing cards and he was an avid reader, history being his favorite of all.
Left to mourn his passing is his father, Donald (Tony) and stepmother, Sylvia Dunn, Dominion; daughter, Jennifer Musial, New Waterford; sons, Raymond and Devon, both of Ontario; sisters, Valerie (Francis) Hurley, New Waterford and Janet (Greg) Dunn-Sabean, Halifax; brother, Tony (Ruxandra) Ontario; mother of his sons, Wendy Blondeau, Ontario; as well as many nieces, nephews and many great friends.
Besides his mother, Annie (Burns) Dunn, Francis was predeceased by his brother, Michael.
There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place under the direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave., New Waterford (862-7500). A funeral mass celebrating Francis’ life will be held on Friday Oct 30, 2009 at 10 a.m. in the Parish Church of St. Leonard’s, Mount Carmel Avenue, New Waterford, with Fr. Paul MacNeil officiating. Interment will be in the Mount Carmel Cemetery. A reception will be held immediately following at the Army and Navy Air force Unit 217, Wilson Avenue, New Waterford and all are welcomed to attend.
