On Wednesday, October 19, 2011, family and friends gathered at the V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home Chapel, Glace Bay to celebrate the life of our dear son, brother and Dad. We would like to extend a sincere thank you to all the dear people who supported and consoled us in our time of sorrow. To all those who sent food and visited our homes; for the many phone calls and messages of condolence; to all who visited the funeral home to show their respect; for the beautiful flowers, memorials and donations to charity; to Rhonda and Brenda, our nieces, who took care of the tea after the service and all that helped them; to the North Street Community and Recreation Center; to David Feaver, our nephew; we thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. A very special thank you is extended to Martha MacDonald who conducted the service; her words of comfort were felt by all and to Suzanne Gracie and Joan MacNeil, whose gift of music lightened the hearts of everyone. Gratitude is also extended to Precision Mine Drilling, Alta; WO & Sgts. Mess, 12 Wing, Shearwater, NS; Clearwater Welding and Fabrication, Ft. It is with love and gratitude that we thank our dear family members who traveled to be with us during this most difficult time in our lives. We will forever be grateful for Miriam Murray, Marilyn's sister, for her words of remembrance about Rodney and for being with the family every step of the way. Thank you Meme for your compassion and wisdom. We love you!! Our lives have been changed and our hearts broken but we will go on knowing that Rodney is now and forever at peace. God bless you all and may His blessing be on families everywhere.
