FOOTE, JEAN CLARA - Jean Clara Foote, wife of the late Donald L. Foote, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 4, 2011 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Born 1923 in Hortonville, NS she was the daughter of the late Johnston and Florence (Allen) Miner. Besides her husband and parents she was predeceased by her sons Dale and Gary Foote; brothers Vernon Miner, Gerald Miner and Russell Miner. Jean lived an exemplary life and leaves an amazing spiritual legacy – The greatest commandment Jesus gave was “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength; and love your neighbour as yourself.” Jean did. In her later years, before her illness, she attended River Valley Wesleyan Church. She is survived by her son Terry Foote (Jocelyne) of Riverview, NB; daughters Donna Smit of Saint John, Ruby Anderson (John) of Edmonton, AB, Janice Cleveland (John) of Wolfville, NS and Charlene Jordan (Ted) of Truro, NS; sisters Mildred Hooper of Penfield, NB and Eva Allen of Wolfville, NS; 18 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitations on Monday, November 7, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Jean’s life will be celebrated from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
