BOLGER, James Patrick - of Kentville, Kings County, passed away Monday October 31, 2011 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. James Patrick Bolger was born on August 21, 1923 in Hope River Prince Edward Island. His parents were Joseph Emmett Bolger and Mary Frances (McKenna) Bolger, both deceased, along with his three brothers, Vernon, Thomas and Gerald. James Patrick attended the local school in Stanley Bridge and after completing Grade 10 he received a Commercial Diploma from the Union Commercial College in Charlottetown PEI. Following these studies he worked as a Teller in the Provincial Bank in Summerside PEI. When he finished working at the Bank as Teller, he and his brother Tom began a little entrepreneurial business in Charlottetown under the name of De Laval Farm Equipment. After World War 2 was declared, he was called to Military Service as Payroll Accountant. When the War ended James Patrick became an employee in the Workman’s Compensation Board of Nova Scotia where his responsibilities extended through various counties in Nova Scotia. Jim retired in Coldbrook, NS in excess of 35 years. Since retirement he became an active member of the Knights of Columbus. He leaves to mourn his wife, Rose Marie, three step-daughters, Mary, Sheree and Joanne; two step-sons, Brad and Gerald; six grandchildren, Shannon, Amanda, Ashley, Bree, Brennan and John. He also leaves his sister, Sr Kathleen Bolger CSM (Charlottetown, PEI), nieces, Anne Marie, Donna, Kathleen, Lisa; nephew, Joseph and their families. May he rest in peace. Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. with prayers held at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2011 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. The funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 3, 2011 in St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Kentville, Father Craig Christenson officiating. Burial took place in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Kentville. A reception followed in St. Joseph’s Parish Hall. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church.
