Passed in: Alder Point, Nova Scotia, Canada
Passed on: November 7th, 2011
With overflowing love and tears in our hearts, we said goodbye to Madonna on Monday, November 7, 2011, at the Northside General Hospital.
Born in Alder Point, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Emma (Marsh) LeBlanc.
Madonna was known to many as Auntie. She was admired for her kindness and loving heart. We will always cherish the many visits to the “goodie house.”
Madonna leaves behind to mourn her loving husband of 40 years, John Thurbide. She is also survived by her sisters, Marguerite Compton, Joyce (James) Paquet, Mary O’Toole, Veronica Theriault and Lillian (John) Forrest; her brothers, Cyril (Marie) LeBlanc, and William LeBlanc; brothers-in-law Edward and Emerson Thurbide, and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers Joseph and Frank; infant sisters Madonna and Veronica; brother-in-law David O’Toole; and sisters-in-law Evangeline Mitchell and Rosalie MacLean.
At her request, there will be no visitation. A funeral Mass celebrating her life will be held in St. Joseph Church, Bras d'Or, on Thursday, November 10, 2011, at 3 p.m., with Fr. Peter MacLeod officiating. The burial will be in the parish cemetery.
