Passed peacefully away on November 8, 2011, in the presence of her loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer, Emmie Hatcher, aged 90 years. Predeceased by her loving husband Clifton Hatcher (March 17, 2001) and her son Rev. Leroy Hatcher (October 22, 2011). Leaving to mourn, with fond and loving memories, daughter Marilyn Thistle (Keith), son Clifton (Hannah); daughter-in-law Dr. Lydia Hatcher; brother Leroy Boone; five grandchildren: Deborah Kean (Shawn), Steve Thistle, Jaclyn Rumsey (Brad), Dr. Natalia Pittman (Michael), Christopher Hatcher; three great-grandchildren: Jason Kean, Andrew Kean and Nathan Rumsey. Emmie was an inspiration to all and will be dearly missed. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Wednesday, November 9 from 7-9 p.m., Thursday, November 10 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Friday, November 11 from 10 a.m. - 12:00 noon. Funeral service will be held from St. Augustine’s Anglican Church, Elizabeth Avenue on Friday, November 11 at 2 p.m. Interment will take place at a later date.
