The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Thursday, October 29, 2009, of Jack Yeo, of Summerside and formerly of Central Lot 16, aged 90 years. Veteran of the Second World War. Born in Central Lot 16, he was the son of the late S. Henry and Rebecca (Gillespie) Yeo. Survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Jean (MacArthur) Yeo; children Norma Malone (Raymond Arsenault), East Royalty; Ronald (Terry) Yeo, Summerside; Sylvia (Wayne) Francis, Charlottetown; son-in-law Wayne Malone, Charlottetown; special grandchildren Duane (Laurie), Karen, Jarrod, Lacey, Afton, Jordan, Courtney, Caitlin and Cassie; brother Prowse (Clara) Yeo, Aldergrove, B.C.; sisters-in-law Glen Campbell, South West Lot 16; Dorothy Yeo, Meadowbank; Jean Yeo, Charlottetown; Gladys Yeo, Rainy River, Ont.; and by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brothers James, Harold, Lloyd and George Yeo; sisters Velda Millar, Ruby Creswell, Beulah Lowther and Gladys Bernard; brothers-in-law Edwin Bernard, Gordon Campbell, Stewart Millar, Edgar Creswell, Waldron Lowther and by a sister-in-law Evelyn Yeo. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, until Monday, then to Central Lot 16 United Church, for funeral service at 2 p.m. Interment later in the Lot 16 Methodist Cemetery. Visiting hours Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Jack and his family suggest a kind gesture towards someone else, or memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the IWK Health Center Foundation would be appreciated. Members of the Miscouche Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion will hold a service of remembrance, at the funeral home, Sunday at 6:45 p.m. www.moase.ca.
