Passed away peacefully and suddenly on Friday, October 30, 2009, surrounded by his loving wife and family, Bob Whelan, age 76. Predeceased by his parents, Patrick and Maude Whelan, brother Thomas Whelan and sister Betty Kennedy. Leaving to mourn his wife and best friend of 53 years Mary; 8 children Gerard (Yvonne), Joanne Ward (Darry), Eddie, Paul (Linda), Mary (Fred), Caroline (Terry), Peggy Chafe (Roger) and Maria (Darryl); 17 grandchildren Steve, Nicole, Mandy, Kayla, Michael, Kaitey, Gerard, Ronnie, Jordan, Daniel, Maggie-Jo, Connor, Ashley, Joel, Anna, Cody and Bob; one great-grandson Ben; sister Eleanor Barron; sister-in-law Jude Whelan; life-time friends Adrian (Duke) St. Croix, Ann and John Quinlan, Rose and Billy Stephenson, Sylvia and John Wall, also leaving to mourn the Mackey Family. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation Sunday, November 1 from 12 noon - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass on Monday, November 2 at 9:30 a.m. from Corpus Christi Church. Cremation to follow.
