It is with deep sadness that we regret to announce the passing of Doris P. Estabrooks, age 87, of Sackville on Saturday, November 5, 2011. Doris passed away peacefully at the Drew Nursing Home while surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Sackville, she was a daughter of the late Ellsworth and Beatrice (Bowser) Bulmer.
Doris was employed with the Sackville Memorial Hospital and Mount Allison University. She was a member of Branch #26 of the Royal Canadian Legion. She was an avid Bingo attender and loved going to the cottage, playing cards and spending time with her family and friends.
She will be sadly missed by her sons Bruce (Gloria), Midgic, Daryl (Alice), Centre Village, Colin (Jena), Midgic, and a daughter Karen (Neil) Ward, Westcock, 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, four sisters, Thelma (Art) Tracy, Prince George, BC, Madeline (Frank) Milner, Sackville, Betty Wheaton, Midgic, Ruth (Donald) Crossman, Penticton, BC; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Vincent in 1982 and sister Phyllis Ogden.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville, NB (364-1300) where visiting hours were held on Monday, Nov. 7, from 7 to 9 p.m.
A memorial service was offered by the Royal Canadian Legion at 7:15 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 7.
The funeral service was held from the funeral home on Tuesday, November 8, 2011, at 2 p.m. Burial to follow in the Midgic Cemetery.
