FRASER, KENNETH - Kenneth W. "Ken" Fraser, age 93, of Sackville, passed away peacefully at the Drew Nursing Home on Wednesday, November 9, 2011. Born in Prince William, NB, he was a son of the late Lebaron and Effie (Rosborough) Fraser. Ken was a veteran of World War II, serving overseas with the RCA Artillery 90th Battalion Fredericton from 1939 - 1945 as a Medic. After the war he worked in Pharmaceuticals in Fredericton until 1950 when he went to work as a Health Care Officer for the Dorchester Penitentiary until his retirement in 1980. He was a member of the Sackville Royal Canadian Legion, a member of the Sussex Masonic Lodge # 4 F & AM, the Sackville Golf and Country Club and the Sackville Curling Club. He will be dearly missed by his daughter Patricia Fraser, Moncton, and son Paul Fraser, Sackville; two grandchildren Amanda and Ryan Fraser; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was predeceased by his wife Joyce Everett in 2007; brothers Earl, Carl and sister Isabelle Bernard.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville (506-364-1300) where visiting hours will take place on Saturday from 1 pm until the time of the funeral. The funeral will take place on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 3 pm. Following the service, the remains will be cremated and buried beside his wife in the Sackville Cemetery. The family wishes to extend thanks to the Drew Nursing Home Staff and Dr. Popma for their wonderful care and support.
