September 6, 1917 - November 5, 2011

It is with great sadness that the family of Ivy Rose Wisemiller announce her passing on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at the age of 94 years.

Born in Toronto in 1917, Ivy moved to BC with her family when she was 11. Ivy was a dedicated and gifted teacher. Her first teaching position was in Upper Clearwater in a one room school house in 1940. She then taught in several communities before settling in Vernon in 1947. She was principal of West Vernon Elementary School from 1961-1972, then a visiting teacher for sick children until her retirement in 1975. Ivy moved from Vernon to Kamloops in 2002.

Ivy enjoyed travelling and travelled extensively, but her favorite place was at her cabin on Okanagan Lake where she spent many happy hours with family and friends.

Ivy is survived by her son David Wisemiller (Sandra) of Cranbrook, her brothers Art (Lynn) Apps of White Rock, Bruce Apps of Kamloops, her grandchildren Kim, Tina, Alan, Viki, Jeff, Karen and Jim and eight great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her son Carl and sister-in-law Grace Apps.

Ivy will be remembered for her sincere kindness and wonderful sense of humor.

She will be missed.
