Passed peacefully away on Friday, October 30, 2009 at the Dr. Walter Templeman Hospital, Bell Island, after a courageous battle with cancer, Leo Gorman, age 79. Predeceased by his wife, Susan Gorman, December 18, 2007. Left to cherish both of their memories are their children: Lorraine (Gerald Fowler); Harriett (Frank Taylor); Gregory (Valerie); Betty (Clifford Yetman), Stan; Jim (Liz). Grandchildren: Michelle (Michael Hussey); Cambridge, ON; Heather (Wayne Tremblett), Fort McMurray, AB; Mark Fowler (Crystal Wells); Gregory Gorman (Amy Maddigan); Bradley Gorman; Colin Taylor; Jean and Leo Cobb (Cambridge, ON). Siblings: Edward Gorman (Bell Island); Madeline (Gus Whalen).St. John’s; Raymond Gorman (Margaret); Bell Island; Bill Gorman (Shirley Littlejohn), Cambridge, ON; sisters-in-law: Frances Slade, Carbonear, N.L.; Mabel (Raymond Gendreau), Bell Islandl Doris (Gerald Dobbin), Cambridge ON; brother-in-law: Fred Cobb (Eva), Bell Island. Three great-granddaughters: Katlyn and Jenna Hussey and Brooklyn Heath; and numerous other relatives and friends. Resting at Pendergast’s Funeral Home, Bell Island. Visitation hours: Saturday, Oct. 31 8 to 9 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 1, noon to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian burial 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2, St, Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, Bell Island. Interment at St. Michael’s RC Cemetery, Bell Island. Reception to follow at St. Michael’s Parish Hall. Flowers gratefully accepted.
