Matheson: Phyllis Theresa, Truro, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 31, 2009, in the Colchester Regional Hospital Truro after a lengthy illness, with her daughter and son by her side. Born in Charlottetown, PEI, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Adele (MacRae) Prunty. She moved to Truro with her husband Bob over 50 years ago and made many close friends. She worked at the Metropolitan, Truro Daily News and Wilsons Fuel. She is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, Robert, Debert Court; son, David, Truro; daughter, Janice (Rex) Barnhill, Truro; grandchildren, Robbie Matheson, Charlottetown; Tim and Chris Matheson, Winnipeg; Kyle and Beth Barnhill, Halifax; 4 great grandchildren; sister, Rita, special niece, Carole, nephew, Michael, all of Charlottetown. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her son, Bobbie; sisters, Helen, Marian in infancy; brothers, Thomas and Richard. No visitation by request. Funeral service will be held 2pm Tuesday, November 3, in the Immaculate Conception Church, Prince Street Truro, Father Darius Miskowicz officiating, with a reception to follow in Campbell Hall. Interment will then be held in the Watson Cemetery, Truro. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the Colchester Regional Hospital Foundation or to a charity of your choice.
