WIGGINS, GERALDINE - The death of Geraldine Wiggins, loving wife of the late Sterling Wiggins occurred on Wednesday November 9, 2011 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born June 4, 1927 in Union Settlement, Waterborough, NB she was the daughter of the late Gerald and Marion (Blakney) Welton. She is survived by her sons Lyle (JoAnne) Wiggins and Dana (Anna) Wiggins both of Saint John, NB; daughters Sherry (Clark) Palmer of Ottawa, ON and Deanna (Carey) Trask of Oak Point, NB; brothers Calvin Welton and Reginald Welton both of Union Settlement, NB; sisters Betty-Lou (James) Nowlan of Burlington, ON, Phyllis Craft of Craft’s Cove, NB and Margaret (Phillip) Hay of Chipman, NB; seven grandchildren Marcus, Reah, Ronald, Candace, Adina, Alaira, and Ashley; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; aunts Eileen Smith, and Willa Albright, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Sterling of forty seven years, and brothers Lawrence and Frank. Geraldine was a teacher for various schools, the last 19 years she taught at Westfield Elementary School retiring in 1987. Geraldine was a member of many organizations including the UNB Fredericton Alumni, NB Teachers Association, BETA Sigma Phi, she was a member of the Lincoln Baptist Church and the Grand Bay Baptist Church, the Bible Study Group, and the Seniors Group.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation on Saturday, November 12, 2011 from 7 to 9 pm and Sunday, November 13, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Grand Bay Baptist Church on Monday, November 14, 2011 at 11 a.m. Reception to follow the service at Grand Bay Baptist fellowship hall. Interment will be held in Ocean View Memorial Gardens following the reception.
