Gill, Marion Winnifred, 100, of Riverton, Pictou County, passed away Thursday, November 10, 2011 in Valley View Villa, Riverton. Born in Georgefield, Hants County, she was a daughter of the late George and Bessie (Clark) Wood. Marion loved to go fishing and play bingo. She had a great love for her children and her grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is survived by a daughter Judy Crossman of Debert; sons, Rex of Upper Kennetcook, Cyril and Percy Jr. (Shirley) both of Belmont, Lawrence (Helen) of Bible Hill; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Percy George Gill; daughter Verna Beach; sons Cecil, Ralph, brothers, Gerald, Vernon, Clarence, Lawrence, Ora, Hiram; sisters Kathleen, Lillian, Gertrude.
No visitation by family request. Arrangements are under the direction of Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. A private family graveside service will take place in the Lower Onslow Clarke Cemetery, Lower Onslow with Rev. Brian DeLong officiating.
