Peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Thursday, November 10, 2011 of Leo Jeffery, aged 89 years, veteran of World War II, of Parkhill Place, Summerside and formerly of South Drive, St. Eleanors. Born in Roxbury on April 10, 1922 son of the late Levi and Sarah “Sadie” (Gallant) Jeffery. Husband of Gertrude “Gertie” (Kilbride) Jeffery. Father of Floyd (Susan), Summerside and a daughter who died in infancy. Grandfather of Jason (Sherra), Summerside and Jamie (Tara), Mill River. Great grandfather to Elise, Alexis, Sophia and Chloe. Brother of Roy (Margaret), Albert (Marjorie), Junior (Grace), Eileen Arsenault and Rosie Lavigne. Brother-in-law of Edward (Erma) Kilbride and George (Eva) Kilbride. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Jack, Billy and Leonard, sisters Mary-Jane, Hannah, Florence and Sophie and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Resting at the Davison Funeral Home Kensington for visitation on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. Funeral Mass Monday at St. Paul’s Church, Summerside at 10:30 a.m. Interment in St. Paul’s Cemetery. If so desired contributions may be made to Cancer Society or the Alzheimer Society. Comrades of the George R. Pearkes V.C. Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 5, Summerside will hold a service of remembrance at the funeral home Sunday afternoon at 1:30 p.m.
