Andrew (Andy) Thomas Dunphy, November 16, 1972 November 5, 2011.
The death of Andrew, 38, Nova Scotia, occurred at his home on Saturday, November 5, 2011.
Andy is survived by his daughter, Jessica Isajenko, a brother, David; two sisters, Christa and Sarah; (he was extremely proud of his nephews), Brandon and Francis; 1 brother in law, Lewis Stevens, 1 sister in law, Nicole and his stepfather, Glenn Balson as well as many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was born on November 16, 1972 to Frank and Charlotte Dunphy (both deceased) and grew up in the Pictou County, Nova Scotia area. He attended the Nova Scotia Community College and learned his welding craft directly from his father who was his teacher. Andy became a highly skilled welder and always gave his best to the clients he served. Andy moved to Calgary in 2006, and immediately became involved in the many high rise welding opportunities available, never hesitating to hang high in the air when the occasion called for it.
He was involved in the construction of well known Calgaryian structures such as the New C train station, The Bow and the additions to Devonion Gardens downtown Calgary.
Andy was dedicated to his family and always wanted them to know how much he loved them. Andy was a big hockey lover and loved to spend his personal time on his motorcycle, camping with family and adored talking to his beautiful daughter, Jess. One of his greatest joys was making his family and friends laugh which he did with ease.
The joy he brought into our lives will be missed but our hearts rest easy knowing that he has joined his parents in peace and love and will always watch over us.
The family wishes to thank the many friends and family members who have and continue to express their condolences, love and prayers and share stories of the many lives he’s touched.
A service will be held on Friday, November 18 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes in Stellarton.
