May 29, 1960 – November 12, 2011. It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Karen Manning, age 51, at the Health Sciences Centre following a long and courageous battle with Leukemia. Karen was a gentle and compassionate woman who throughout her whole life has displayed immense dignity and strength of character. Predeceased by parents Michael Joseph Manning (1970) and Bridget Conway Manning (2006). Leaving to mourn her beloved children: Michael Browne (Ashley Feltham-Browne), Stephen Browne (Angela Butler), Erika Browne (Scott Pope) and Kyra Walbourne (Anthony Hiscock); treasured grandchildren: Laylah Browne and Benjamin Browne, whom she adored; boyfriend David McGrath; sisters: Juanita (Karl Simmons), Colleen Manning, Lisa Manning (Paul Young); brothers: Michael G. Manning (Charlotte), Sean Manning (Sherry), Clyde Manning (Paula Hodder), Dion Manning-Stroud (Kathi); step-father Jack Stroud; many cherished nieces and nephews; special friend Heather Pollock; and many friends and co-workers from Canada Revenue Agency and Service Canada, as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at 4 North A for the compassionate and loving care provided during Karen’s many stays at HSC. Visitation will take place at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Tuesday, November 15 and Wednesday, November 16 from 2 – 4 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m. Funeral Mass at 11 a.m., Thursday, November 17 at St Teresa’s Parish. Interment to follow in St Bride’s, Placentia Bay on Saturday, November 19. Flowers gratefully accepted.
