Peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Monday, November 14, 2011 of Elva D. Pickering of 8 Walker Dr., Kensington, aged 92 years.
Born in Hamilton, December 29, 1918, daughter of the late Byron and Elizabeth (Owen) Stewart. Wife of the late Wallace E. Pickering. Mother of Dale (Carolyn) Pickering, Bedford, Nova Scotia; Marion (Bertram) Palmer, Kensington; Margaret (Craig) Hubbard, Regina, Saskatchewan; and special daughter Edith Huestis. Gram to Jodi Pickering (Clayton Moore), Tara Pickering, Allan (Donna) Palmer, Kevin (Tammy) Palmer, Natasha (Brian) Murdock, John (Natasha) Hubbard, Stewart (Tara) Hubbard, Donald Campbell and Susan (Danny) Laverty, 14 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Sister of Marion Hickey, Kensington; Doris Clifford, Ottawa; and Muriel Yeo Cameron, Summerside. Sister-in-law of Eileen Pickering, Kensington.
Predeceased by her daughter and son-in-law, Marlene and James Campbell; grandson, Michael Palmer; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Geraldine Stewart; and the following brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Charles Hickey, Lawrence Clifford, Gerald Yeo, Angus Cameron, Marion and James Evans, Sidney and Carolyn MacGougan, Heber Pickering and Anson and Eileen Pickering.
Resting at the Davison Funeral Home, Kensington, where members of Regent Chapter No. 52, Order of Eastern Star will hold a memorial service Thursday at 3:30 p.m., followed by visitation from 4-7 p.m. Funeral Friday in the Davison Funeral Home Chapel at 10:30 a.m. Interment Saturday in People's Cemetery, Malpeque.
