SWEENEY, Monica Lee - 48 of Tusket, Yarmouth Co. Monica passed away November 15 at Yarmouth Regional Hospital from a courageous battle with cancer. She was the proud mother of Jeffrey Woodworth; daughter of Malcolm and Karen (Hamilton)Sweeney; sister to Scott, Kelly and Krystal; sister-in-law, but more like a sister, to Judy Gordon; auntie to Farrah, Vanessa, Samantha, Kate and Emma. Monica grew up in Tusket, lived in Halifax and recently moved back to Tusket after spending over ten years in St.John’s, NFLD, where she managed Oliver’s Restaurant. She loved her job, her friends andkeeping busy there. She also enjoyed travelling, cooking, camping, gardening and just being outside. But above all, she loved her son Jeffrey. She was so full of pride because of him. You couldn’t help but smile when you were in Monica’s presence. She was a special soul with an enormous heart. She will also be missed by her two cats Chester and Maxx, who were also greatly loved by her. Thank you to everyone that was there for her, especially in these last few months. She will be missed by all. She will be loved forever. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Sweeny’s Funeral Home & Crematorium, Yarmouth.
