Hannah Etheridge Carmichael
Hannah Etheridge Carmichael - It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected death of our dear Hannah. Although she met many health challenges in her 29 years, she did so with a smile. And, when feeling well, she sang, danced and laughed the night away. She lit up any room she entered, sweeping people up with her unbridled enthusiasm for life. Her energy and ridiculous laugh were contagious. We all wanted to be near her. Hannah was a physicist, a teacher, an archer, a bicyclist, a singer, a dancer, a seamstress, an (aspiring) potter, a linguist, a scholar, a musician, a comic, and so much more – a true renaissance woman. She was a kind, gentle, caring and loving confidante and friend – her death leaves a giant hole in so many hearts. But, as generous in death as she was in life, Hannah saved four lives through organ donation. All were welcome to an informal gathering on the afternoon of Sunday November 20 at her family home in Port Williams, Nova Scotia. Donations in Hannah’s memory can be made to some of her favorite charities: the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of Canada, the IWK Health Centre Foundation, Unicef Canada, or kiva.org. Condolences may be sent to scarmich@eastlink.ca.
