Albert “Abb” C. MacGregor, 74, of Riverview, N.B., with his children by his side, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009. Born in Knutsford, P.E.I., he was the son of the late Hughie and Georgie (Adams) MacGregor. Abb was a retired Building Inspector for the Town of Riverview with 29 years service. He attended St. Paul’s United Church, was a former coach and Executive Member of Riverview Minor Hockey, enjoyed bowling and was an avid Moncton Wildcats fan. Abb will be sadly missed by his children, Georgie Mae Simpkins (Jim), Saint John, Abbie (Maria Richard), Memramcook, Rosanne Allen (Bill), Riverview; grandchildren, Shannon, Adam, Donald, Mathieu, William, Ben; great-grandson, Logan; hockey buddy and sidekick, Gerry Coates; sisters, Lila Milligan (late Russell), Berwick, N.S., Carol MacWilliams (Albert), Riverview, Brenda Jane Albert Summerside, P.E.I.; brother, Gary (Paulette), Gimli, Man.; brother-in-law, Ivan Kirev. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Margaret (MacIsaac) MacGregor (Nov. 8, 2007); brother, Lewis; sisters, Lillas, Annie Laurie; nephews, Jacy MacGregor, Tyler Rafters. Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Rd., Moncton, N.B. (506-858-1995), Thursday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Celebration of Life Service for Abb will be held at St. Paul’s United Church, Riverview, Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, 2:30 p.m, Rev. Steve Berube officiating. Reception in the Church Hall following the service.
