Shirley Joyce Alderson age 86 of Amherst passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre in Upper Nappan.
Shirley was born on November 25, 1925 in Amherst, and was a daughter of the late Mae (Dixon) and Folton Simmonds.
She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her only son, Keith, Amherst; her special grandchildren, John, Terry and Joey; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Shirley was the last member of her immediate family and was predeceased by her husband, Gerald F. Alderson in 2005; her daughter, Marilyn in infancy; as well as three sisters, Muriel Weatherbee, Ruth Hardy and Dorothy Simmonds.
Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation on Saturday, November 26, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. until funeral service at 2:00 p.m. all in Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (667-9906) with Rev. Byron Corkum officiating.
Interment will take place beside her husband in the Amherst Cemetery.
