It is with great sadness that the family of the late Lloyd Samson announce his passing on Tuesday, November 22nd, 2011 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 72 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his devoted and loving partner of 31 years, Annie Bursey; special nephew: Todd Samson; Annie’s children: Judy (Glen) Cooper, Ann Marie (Perry) Cooper and Robert (Nancy) Bursey; five grandchildren and one great granddaughter; sisters: Effie (Harold) House, Eunice (Herb) Tucker, Jean Samson, Vera (Wilfred) Patey and Bride Whey; brothers: James, Jerry (Roslyn), Dion and Morris (Sheila); stepmother: Mrs. Mary Samson; brothers and sisters-in-law: Bob (Joan) Johnson, Frank (Jean) Johnson, Wanda (Allan) Dalley and Wayne (Donna) Johnson; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was predeceased by his parents: James and Dolly; sister: Dolly; grandmother, Dorcas Samson and brother-in-law: Hughie Whey. Friends may visit the Anglican Church in River of Ponds on Thursday evening beginning at 6:00 p.m. from where the funeral service will be held on Friday, November 25th at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Marlene Harvey officiating. The interment will follow at the Pentecostal Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ALS Society.
