WEATHERBY, BEN C. - January 12, 1936 - November 23, 2011 - It is with great sadness that the family of Ben Weatherby of Miramichi, NB, formerly of Saint John, NB, announces his passing on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at his home surrounded by his loving wife Helen, daughter Shelley and granddaughters Kristen and Kayla after a courageous battle with cancer. Ben was a strong, loving, talented one in a million man, who was loved dearly by many. Ben has been known for his love of country music that warmed the hearts of many many people. He was a recording artist (answer to Aunt Martha’s Sheep), selling over a million copies. He is survived by his wife Helen, daughters, Shelley Gomke (Tony) of St John and Janice Gillespie (Adam) of West Virginia two sons, David Fisher (Surlee) of Toronto and Bill Weatherby two sisters, Sylvis and Betty and one brother Gerry, grandchildren, Nicole, Devan, Kristen, Kayla, David, Dillyn, William and Hayden, great grandchildren, Brendan, Brianna, Layla and Ben.
At Ben’s request there will be no visitation at the funeral home. The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, November 27, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Full Gospel Chapel, 11624 Route 430 Hwy, Chaplin Island Road, Miramichi NB, with Pastor Wendell England officiating.
