December 9, 1912 - November 20, 2011

Mary passed away peacefully on November 20, 2011 in Kamloops, BC just short of her 99th birthday.

She is survived by her two sons, Bill of Victoria and Tom (Paulette) of Kamloops; ten grandchildren (Geoffrey, Mairilee, Sheryl, Dan, Virginia, Tom, Wesley, Joel, Elizabeth and Anita) and ten great grandchildren (Nadine, Sheridan, Cooper, Sarah, Nicholas, Olivia, Charlie, Aidan, Jane Mary, and Dillan). She is also survived by two sisters, Jean Simonson of Edmonton and Betty Evans of Calgary. She will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews, as well as her singing and hiking buddies.

Mary was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Tom, in 1986.

Mary was born in Coleman, Alberta and grew up in the 'Coal Branch' area of Luscar, Alberta. In 1945 she moved to Edmonton where she and her husband operated a corner store. In 1973 Mary and Tom moved to Kamloops to be close to their family. Mary was a very active lady who particularly enjoyed gardening, singing and outdoor activities. She participated in several community fitness groups and choirs.

The family wishes to express special thanks to the exceptionally supportive and caring staff of the Overlander Extended Care Hospital for their attention to Mary in the last 4 years, and in particular ensuring her comfort in her final days.

Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 2:00 p.m., Full Gospel Tabernacle, 1550 Tranquille Road, Kamloops.

Private family interment at a later date.
