Formerly of Summerside, passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family on November 22, 2011 in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 79.
He was predeceased by his parents, Benjamin C. and Grace Rankin Schurman. He is survived by his wife, Aline (Spence); children, Rankin Schurman (Pam), Oklahoma; Lisa Mendes (Carlos), Plano, Texas; Stephen Schurman (Misty), Shreveport, LA; and Lori Bogdan (Andrew), Dallas, Texas; 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; brothers, Paul H. Schurman (Barbara) and Donald Schurman (Glenda) of Summerside.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Bonnie Sue Schurman, and his brother and sister-in-law Robert C. Schurman and Lois E. Schurman.
Visiting hours at Rose Neath South Funeral Home in Shreveport, Louisiana, on Friday, November 25, from 5-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 26, at 2 p.m. at Brown Chapel, Centenary College at 2900 Woodlawn Ave., Shreveport, with burial taking place at Centuries Memorial Park.
A memorial service will be held at a later date on Prince Edward Island.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations can be made to Caddo-Bossier ARC Foundation, Centenary College of Louisiana or a charity of donor’s choice.
