Suddenly at his late residence in Anglo Tignish on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, of Edmond Joseph Richard, age 85 years. Born on June 13,1924, he was the son of the late Avis and Rosie (nee Perry) Richard. He is survived by a brother, Jerome of Saint John N.B., and by a sister, Olive Richard of Ontario. He was predeceased by a brother, Arthur, and by a sister, Agnes. Edmond worked for many years in the lumber yards and later worked at the water front in Saint John, N.B. His greatest pastime was fishing off of the Tignish harbour and he was a great lover of horses, having owned two race horses in his earlier years. Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Visiting hours Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral on Saturday morning from St. Simon and St. Jude Church Tignish for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the church cemetery. As an expression of sympathy memorials to the Western Hospital Equipment fund would be gratefully appreciated.
