ATWOOD, David Stewart – September 26, 1935 – November 19, 2011, Hubbard’s Point, Yarmouth Co., passed away surrounded by his loving family. David was the son of the late Ernest and Georgina Atwood. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Lena (Helena Doucette) Atwood; his sons, David (Valerie), Barrington; Brian (Melanie), Yarmouth; Christopher (companion, Sara), Yarmouth; grandchildren, Heidi and Kyle, both of Barrington; Logan and Noah, both of Yarmouth; a brother, Charles (Barbara) and a sister, Lois (George). Aside from his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Curtis and Ernie; a sister, Marjorie and two grandchildren in infancy, Kassidy and Kameran. David loved his country music and he always looked forward to planting his garden. Visitation took place from 7-9 Monday evening, with prayers at 8 p.m. at H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth, where the funeral was held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, November 22, Father Henry Smolenaars officiated. A private interment followed in Saint Anne’s Parish Cemetery, Ste. Anne-du-Ruisseau. It was requested that there be family flowers only.
