MATCHETT, MURIEL - 1926-2011 - With profound sadness, the family of Mrs. Muriel Matchett, affectionately called Nana Mu, announces her passing on Saturday, November 26, 2011, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, with her loving family at her side, at the age of 85. She was the daughter of the late William and Susan Whyte and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In her earlier years, she worked as the Executive Secretary to the President of Eaton Company, in Moncton. Mother is survived by her children Trudy Matchett, Brent Matchett, and Dr. Brian Matchett; her grandchildren Bobbi Lee, Brett (Shaun Rousselle), and Bradley (Shannon); her great grandchildren Connor, Christina, Amber, and Austin; daughter-in-law Bernice Preston; and many other extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Carl Blackmore Matchett.
The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home on Thursday, December 1, 2011, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held from Northumberland Funeral Home Chapel, on Friday, December 2, 2011, at 11 am, with Rev. Daniel Cormier and Rev. Dr. Diane Juckes officiating. If desired, donations to the Alzheimers Society or any charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
