It is with deep sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Albert Mombourquette on November 4, 2009 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late Albert and Ida (MacSween) Mombourquette.
Albert was a very kind, gentle and loving father, brother, uncle and a wonderful friend to all who knew him.
Until his retirement he was a Correctional Officer at the Cape Breton Correctional Centre.
He is survived by his daughter Lisa, Sydney; son Danny (Marilyn), Halifax and their mom, Marie Mombourquette; his only grandchild Albert Daniel; sisters, Shirley (Willie) Roach, Donalda (Everett) Watt; brother-in-law Leslie Dancesecs and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Albert was predeceased by his sisters, Honey Dancesecs and Georgina (Danny) Luther.
Cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to Francis Funeral Home, Sydney Mines with the cooperation of the Pier Community Funeral Home where a memorial service will take place in the All Faith Chapel on Sunday, November 8, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. T. Whent officiating. A reception will be held in the funeral home reception area immediately following the service.
