It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the sudden passing of Nick Hill, on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2011 at home.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late Duncan and Katie (MacNeil) Hill.
He was employed as a press operator for Kruger Inc. in Ontario, then with the Cape Breton Post for the last 15 years.
He enjoyed playing darts and cards and playing his guitar. He also enjoyed spending his time camping with friends and family.
Nick is survived by his children, Lorraine Hill, Theresa Hill, Jason (Melissa) Hill and Shane Hill, all of Ontario and nine grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Shirley (Michael) O’Dea, Sydney, Donnie (Florence) Hill, Boulardrie, David (Faye) Hill, Sydney, Derrick (Darlene) Hill, Sydney River, and George (Rosemary) Hill, Toronto, Ont., his dear friend, Tish as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Rose and Evelyn; brothers, Duncan and John.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 2, 2011 at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney from 6-8 p.m. A memorial service to follow at 8 p.m. with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating.
