Amy Jean Cook of Kamloops passed away on November 27, 2011 at 68 years of age.
She is survived by her loving husband William Cook, children Kim Blight of Port Moody, Kevin (Candace) Cook of Chilliwack, grandchildren Kayla and Ryan Blight and Colby and Chris Cook.
Amy was predeceased by her father and mother Fred and Mary Dean.
She was born on December 16th, 1942 in Red Lake, Ontario and grew up in Dryden, Ontario. After attending business school in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Amy and William married in 1964 in Dryden. The newly weds arrived in Kamloops in 1967 where they raised their family. Amy worked for Sunden Management, Weyerhaeuser and most recently the Welcome Wagon. She made many good friends over the years and cherished their company. Amy enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, vacations, as well as visits to the casino. Her sunny personality always remained with her during her battle with cancer.
The family wishes to thank all the wonderful staff at the Royal Inland Hospital and the Kamloops Hospice Association.
A Celebration of Amy's Life will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, December 3, 2011 in the Kamloops Funeral Home Chapel, 285 Fortune Drive.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice Memorial Home, 72 Whiteshield Cr., S. Kamloops, B.C. V2E 2S9 in memory of Amy.
