It is with great sadness that we, the family, of Darryl Henry MacLeod announce that he suddenly passed away on Friday, Nov. 25, 2011 at the young age of 41.
Darryl was born July 12, 1970 in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia and grew up in North Sydney with his adoptive parents and sister. Darryl has been living in Ontario for over 20 years and in the last five years lived with his wife and family in Pickering, Ont. Darryl was a member of Local Steel Metal Union #30.
Darryl is survived by his parents, Norma Jean MacLeod (Carmichael) and Henry MacLeod of North Sydney, one sister, Katherine Mary ‘Kathy’ 43 and nephew, Andrew 17, living in Barrie, Ont. His loving wife Julie 35, his two beautiful daughters, Darrian 17, Danielle 13 and three stepchildren, Tori 18, Courtney 14 and Meagan 11.
An honourable mention and heart felt thanks is expressed to James Peter Bushell ‘Jimmy’ who has been Darryl’s life long best friend and who has travelled to Ontario to be with his family at this difficult time.
Cremation has taken place in Ontario where Darryl will remain in memory close to his wife and family. A memorial service will be held in Pickering to honour his memory and one at home as well at St. Matthew Wesley United Church, North Sydney on Sunday, Dec. 4, 2011 at 3 p.m.
Darryl will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
