McGRATH, ALLEN ROBERT – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Allen Robert McGrath on December 1, 2011 at Bobby’s Hospice. Born 1955 in Saint John, he was the son of the late James McGrath and Annie (MacMackin) McGrath. He is survived by loving wife Carol McGrath; brother Jim McGrath (Shirley Elliott) of Windsor, ON; sister Lillian Bennett of Saint John; brother in-law Everett Humby (Susan) of Hampton; sister-in-law Jocelyn Walsh (Aloysius) of Newfoundland; best buddies Sam, Pokey, and Kismet, many nieces, nephews, and friends. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sister MarieAnn McGrath. Allen worked at Munro Electronics for 20 years before moving to the DPL Group. Many people remember Allen from his walks in Rockwood Park with his dog Sam.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road. Saint John (646-2424). Following cremation, visitations will take place at Fundy Funeral Home on Sunday, December 4 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and Monday, December 5 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A private service will be held at a later date. No flowers by request, donations made to The Oromocto SPCA or Bobby’s House would be appreciated by the family.
