It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our love, mother and best friend who succumbed to a long hard battle with cancer at home with her family by her side.
She was predeceased by her parents Carolina and Edward Wheeler, her sister Alice (Fred) Minnie and her son Gerald. Family members bereaving Noreen are her husband of 51 years, Don, her sons Doug, Ted and Mike, nine grandchildren Ryan, Lily, Alexa, Georgia, Michaela, Callum, Chase, Finlay and Kennedy, sisters Elva Clemens and Dorothy (Nick) DiOrio, nieces and nephews Sherri, Heidi, Roy, John, Frank, Theresa, Lori, Sandy, Tina and Cecil.
Noreen was born and raised in Victoria, attending South Park Elementary, Victoria High School, was in the Victoria Girls Drill Team and worked at the Motor Vehicle Branch of the Provincial Government. She moved to Vancouver in 1957 and worked at Gulf Oil, married her husband in 1960 and moved to Dawson Creek in 1961 for eleven years and raised 4 sons. She moved to Tsawwassen in 1972 and while working in her husband’s Land Surveying office managed to control 4 boys, a husband and a big yard full of flowers.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Delta Funeral Home 5329 Ladner Trunk Road, Ladner, BC on Friday the 2nd December at 11 am, followed by a reception at the Beach Grove Golf Course club house 5946 12th Avenue, Tsawwassen, BC from 1 – 4pm. In Lieu of flowers, donations to BC Cancer Foundation 13750 - 96th Ave, Surrey, BC V3V 1Z2, would be appreciated.
