It is with sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Arthur Forrest announce his passing at home on Friday, Dec. 2, 2011.
Born in the Magdalen Islands, he was the son of the late Edgar and Louise Forrest.
Art Forrest was well known in the community as an auto body man. He ran his own business in Sydney River (Art Forrest Auto Body) and is remembered for his attention to detail and his love of cars. Art will be missed by family and friends.
Arthur is survived by his daughter, Rose (Roy Simmons) and son, Mark (Therese); grandsons, Matthew and Jonathan; brothers, Armond (Diane), Paul and Michael (Debbie); sisters, Mabel (Lonnie), Ida and Lucy.
Besides his parents, Arthur was predeceased by brothers, Willy, Fred, Ernie, Albert and Joe, sisters, Louise, Jenny, and Margaret.
Cremation has taken place. Upon family request there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Dec. 6 at 6 p.m. at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating. There will be a reception following the service.
