It is with great sorrow, that we, the family, announce the passing of our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, Carlotta MacLean. Carlotta passed away peacefully on Monday, Dec. 5, 2011, at the Glace Bay Hospital with her family by her side.
Born in Dominion, Carlotta was the daughter of the late Archibald and Ellen (Usher) MacLean.
Carlotta worked at St. Joseph’s Community Hospital, Glace Bay, in the housekeeping unit throughout her life. She loved to bake and cook and, in recent years, while as a resident of Seaview Manor, Glace Bay, she took great delight in helping all the ladies that worked in the kitchen. These women were very special to her and she loved them dearly.
Carlotta is survived by children, Mary Lannon, New Glasgow, Phyllis Lynk, Sydney, Fred Lynk (Maurina), Glace Bay, James Lynk (Tina), Ontario, Joseph Lynk (Margaret), New Waterford, Margaret Anne Lynk (Craig), New Glasgow. She is also survived by sisters, Jenevieve ‘Jenny’ (Mrs. Robert Windsor), Clotilda (Mrs. Ernest MacQueen), and special sister, Rosella (Mrs. Redmond Curtis), all of New Glasgow. Carlotta is survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her former husband, Phillip Lynk, brothers, Colin, Charles, Wilfred, Patrick, Bert, sister, Eileen MacLean.
In keeping with Carlotta’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. The funeral mass, officiated by Fr. Leo Boone will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home Chapel, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay.
Family flowers only please. As an expression of sympathy for Carlotta, memorial donations in her memory may be made to Seaview Manor, Glace Bay.
