It is with great sadness that the family of the late Verna Campbell announce her passing at her home in Stephenville on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at the age of 66 years. She will be sadly missed by her common-law husband, Mark Young and her five sons: Kevin (Della) Campbell of Fredericton, New Brunswick, Art Campbell of Lloydminster, Alberta, Archie (Michelle) Campbell of Petawawa, Ontario, Dwayne (Jolene) Campbell of Red Deer, Alberta, Linus Retieffe of Halifax, Nova Scotia; five brothers: Len (Irene) Retieffe, Myron (Millie) Retieffe, Leslie (Cathy) Retieffe, all of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Kevin (Cathy) Retieffe, Lloyd (Lillian) Retieffe, both of Cape St. George; five sisters: Florence (Jack) Fitzgerald, Elaine (Glen) Madore, both of Cape St. George, Yvonne (Gary) Benoit of Marches Point, Evelyn Simon of Cape St. George, Doreen (Kevin) Hartland of Chezzecook, Nova Scotia; seven grandchildren: Felicia and Vince of Fredericton, New Brunswick, Troy of Bonnyville, Alberta, Andrew and Kendra of Petawawa, Ontario, Jessica and Dawson of Red Deer, Alberta; one great-grandson, Sylar of Bonnyville, Alberta and a large circle of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Vincent Campbell; parents, Arthur and Yvonne Retieffe; and brother, Wallace Retieffe. Friends may call at Russell’s Funeral Home, 57 Prince Rupert Drive, Stephenville on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Thursday, November 12th at 11:00 a.m. at Russell’s Funeral Home Chapel, 39 Queen Street, Stephenville with Father Maurice O’Quinn officiating. Cremation to follow. Private family interment will take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
