It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ronald Edward Hynes announce his passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Stephenville on Sunday, November 8, 2009 at the age of 85 years. He will be sadly missed by three sons: Ed (Terry) of Marathon, Ontario, Jerry (Theresa) of Brampton, Ontario and Brian (Sandra) of Port au Port; four daughters: Marion (Gus) Gillis of Grand Prairie, Alberta, Winnie Mott (Keith White) of Port au Port, Evelyn (Roger) Hynes of Port au Port and O’Della (Michael) Harris of Germantown, Maryland; two brothers: Alphonsus (Theresa) Hynes and William (Theresa) Hynes, both of Port au Port; special nephew, Raymond (Monica) Hynes of Port au Port; special niece, Rose (Danny) O’Connell of Florida; 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and a large circle of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Georgina, seven brothers and two sisters. Friends may call at the Maria Regina Parish, Port au Port East on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, November 11th at 3:00 p.m. at the Maria Regina Parish, Port au Port East with interment in the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Port au Port East. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. Funeral arrangements are under the supervision of Russell’s Funeral Home, Stephenville.
