The death occurred at the Western Hospital, Alberton, on Friday, Dec. 5, 2008, of Ben MacKey of Greenmount aged 71 years. He was born in Greenmount on June 17, 1937, the son of the late Alfred and Mary (MacMillan) MacKey. Dear brother to Jim (Hazel), Greenmount, Theresa MacKey, Riverview Manor, Montague, Bernice (Linus) Conway, Bonshaw, Claude, Greenmount, Roy (Millie), Brampton, Ont., Leigh (Judy), Mississauga, Ont., Beverley (Carl) Ellsworth, Palmer Road, Rollie, Greenmount, and Donna (Les) Zaba, Kensington. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Marjorie MacKey-McInnis, Tignish, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Alfred and Mary, brother, Lloyd, sisters, Adeline and Mary. Resting at the West Prince Funeral Home, Palmer Road, for visiting hours Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 9 to 10 a.m. Funeral will be held Monday at the Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road with funeral mass at 10:30 am. Interment to take place in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Alberton. Memorial donations to the Western Hospital Equipment Fund would be greatly appreciated.
