Passed peacefully away at Victoria General Hospital on Friday, December 2, 2011, James Maher, age 69 years of age. Predeceased by father Edward Maher and mother Catherine Dalton. Leaving to mourn his son Dion Maher (Jody Hickey) and his daughter Gina Maher (Stephen Dobbin); grandchildren Gavon Raynes and Mitchel Troake. Also leaving to mourn brother Billie Maher (Phyllis), Eddie Maher (Sadie), John Maher (Nell) and sisters Joan Montieth, Marie Ballard (Bob), Carol Anne Bemister (Dave), Linda Dicks (Sted) and Deborah Maher (Derrick). James is also leaving behind may in-laws, nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at The Basilica on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. Reception at St. John’s Lions Club, Newtown Road at 5 p.m. Donations in James’s memory may be made to the Kidney Foundation.
